About

Sonal Sachdeva  practices what is popularly known as Vedic astrology. It draws upon the ancient Jyotish wisdom of the Vedas from India, that, for over 3,000 years, endures as a remarkably effective method of guidance and inspiration for individuals striving for personal growth. Sonal has an extraordinary gift for illuminating the possibilities revealed in the birth chart and provides unique advice on how best to manage life’s dilemmas.

Sonal is also an extremely insightful Tarot card reader and works with the Mythic Tarot deck of her teachers Liz Greene and Juliet Sharman Burke. As questions arise during the consultation, a Mythical Tarot card spread can be referred to as an additional tool in parallel with the astrological reading.

Initially, Sonal studied Western Psychological Astrology under Liz Greene at the Centre of Psychological Astrology (CPA) before focusing on her Vedic learning practice under the tutelage of celebrated Indian astrologer, Pandit Sanjay Rath. She is enrolled into three courses, The Mantra Sastra program, Parasara Hora Sastra course and the Jaimini Sutras scholar program, under the guidance of Vedanga Guru Pandit Sanjay Rath and his wife Sarbani Rath.

WHY VEDIC ASTROLOGY ?

Chapter 2 – ṣloka 13 from Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra

यो नरः शास्त्रमज्ञात्वा ज्यौतिषं खलु निन्दति । रौरवं नरकं भुक्त्वा चान्धत्वं चान्यजन्मनि ॥ १३॥

yo naraḥ śāstramajñātvā jyautiṣaṁ khalu nindati| rauravaṁ narakaṁ bhuktvā cāndhatvaṁ cānyajanmani||13||

ṣloka 13: A person who not having known of the Shastra relating to the science of divination which is Jyotisa, indeed is reviled. This person having suffered in hell is reborn again blind.

The ṣloka gives the results of one not knowing the Shastra of Jyotish. It is quite categorical that those who have access or have known about this body of knowledge should study it.As Jyotish is a great science and is one of the vital limbs of the Vedanga. Remember, Sages were focused on truth and getting Human beings to live in alignment to their inherent nature and potential. Being born blind could be literal or a metaphor, but it does indicate the person will suffer as a result of not knowing Jyotish.

Dear Sirs, I have two enquiries and would request your opinion:

    (i) How, why and when 3102 BCE year has been called the PRAMADI (PRAMATHIN) year in the 60-year Jovian cycle
    (ii)
When did the First year PRABHAVA in the 60-yr Jovian cycle start?

    Regards
